Sad News! Twin sisters and their best friend died in an early-morning car crash in San Fernando! The accident happened around 4am at the Cross Crossing interchange, taking the lives of Khadijah and Khertima Taylor, 18 (twins) and Kafiya Gill, 19. The twins died at the scene and Kafiya Gill died while being treated at the hospital.
The 3 were leaving a new club in La Romaine when they got into the accident. Both twins were not wearing their seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle! Police said the car flipped several times and landed vertically between the pillars of a bridge at the Cross Crossing interchange. Fire officers assisted in removing the car with a hydraulic lift. Driver of the white Mazda 3 car, Anthony Balkissoon, and passengers Teenisha Garcia, 19, and Akinton Derrick, 22, were taken to hospital by paramedics and remain in serious condition! I can’t imagine the pain the victims families are having to deal with especially with all of the victims being so young!
The twins were Sixth Form pupils at St Joseph’s Convent, San Fernando.Gill, of Cedar Drive, Pleasantville, had also attended St Joseph’s Convent, where she met and became friends with the twin sisters. Kafiya’s father said his daughter began working in the human resources department at the South West Regional Health Authority. They were all bright young women. Prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims! Please be safe, don’t drink and drive, and put on your seat belts!!
